Indu Liberhan takes over as Secretary, Defence Finance 16:10 IST Smt. Indu Liberhan has taken over as Secretary (Defence Finance). A 1972 IDAS officer, Smt. Liberhan was till recently an Additional Controller General of Defence Accounts in the Ministry of Defence. The 58-year-old Defence Accounts officer brings with her a deft experience of over 36 years, handling intricate financial matters in various central ministries including defence budgeting. Born in 1950, Smt. Liberhan holds an MA, M.Phil degrees and has been the Principal Controller of Defence Accounts, besides serving as Principal Advisor to the TRAI. She has also worked in the Department of Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Department of Power and DG-BSF in various capacities. PK/RAJ
