The State Election Commissions have been established in every state as per the provisions of Article 243 K of the Constitution of India. In the State of Maharashtra the Commission has been established on 23rd April 1994. Smt. Neela Satyanarayana is the present State Election Commissioner w.e.f. 6th July 2009
