Ministry of I&B related standing Committee Constituted

The Standing Committee relating to Information Technology has been constituted with Sh. Rao Inderjit Singh as its Chairman. The Committee on Information Technology looks after the issues of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. The newly constituted committee has 17 members from Lok Sabha and nine members from Rajya Sabha.

The members from Lok Sabha include S/Sh. Abdul Rahman (DMK), Shivaji Adhalrao Patil (Shiv Sena), Rajendra Agrawal (BJP), Nikhil Kumar Choudhary (BJP), Milind Murli Deora (INC), Rajen Gohain (BJP), Mithlesh Kumar (Samajwadi Party), Inder Singh Namdhari (Independent), Prem Das Rai (Sikkim Democratic Front), Tathagata Satpathy (Biju Janta Dal), Bhola Singh (BJP),Dhananjay Singh (BSP),Sushil Kumar Singh (Janata Dal United),C.Sivasami (AIADMK),Dharmendra Yadav (Samajwadi Party) and Smt. Darshana Vikram Jardosh(BJP) as also M.Vijaya Shanthi (Telangana Rashtra Samithi)

The Members from Rajya Sabha include S/Sh.: M P Achuthan (CPI), Rajkumar Dhoot (Shiv Sena), N.R.Govindarajar(AIADMK), Prabhat Jha (BJP), Shriram Pal (BSP), Ravi Shankar Prasad (BJP), P.Rajeeve (CPI(M), Dharam Pal Sabharwal (INC) and Prof.Alka Balram Kshatriya (INC)

The Standing Committees examine the demands for grants, bills, annual reports of the departments concerned and long-term policy documents presented to the Houses.

Air Force Association Day celebrated today

The Annual Day of Air Force Association (AFA) was celebrated today at New Delhi. The function began with a Wreath Laying Ceremony at Amar Jawan Jyoti. The former Air Chief, and presently President, AFA, Air Chief Marshal FH Major laid a wreath at the war memorial on the occasion. At the Annual General Body meeting that followed at Air Force Auditorium, Subroto Park, several Air Force octogenarians were honoured and were presented mementos by the Association. The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal PV Naik was the Chief Guest at the occasion. Various retired Chiefs of the Air Staff, large number of Officers and PBORs attended the Annual General Meeting.
