Srinivasa Kalyanam in USA

Tirumala 08 April(P.R.O) ‘As a part of TTD’s objectives, and Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad’s (HDPP) activities, the Board and management of TTD has decided to perform Srinivasa Kalyanam in USA and has assigned the responsibilities to Telugu Times, a USA based media company’ says Mr DK Adikesavulu, Chairman, TTD Board.
Mr Adikesavulu also said “ The recession in USA in 2008-09 has hit the entire worlds’ economy and several countries including India were badly affected. We all know how India or even our State AP was flourishing with thousands of IT professionals going to USA and Crores of Rupees of IT exports happening. USA is slowly coming back to normalcy.. Because of this situation, several NRIs have been requesting TTD to come to USA and perform Lord Venkateswa’s Sevas in USA and it would be a real ‘Loka Kalyanam ( Wellbeing of the World)’. Hence TTD has taken the decision of holding Srinivasa Kalyanam in two cities one in New York/New Jersey area ( the Worlds business capital) and one in San Francisco ( the Silicon Valley- World’s IT Capital )
He also added “ The Management of Telugu Times has formed Committees and Advisory Boards in both cities and several persons from all communities have joined into the preparations of First ever event where TTD is going along with Archakas, Veda Pundits chosen following Agama Sastra rures and regulations only and two sets of Idols of Lord Venkateswara, Sridevi and Bhudevi ammavar. TTD will give the total sanctity and authenticity to the Sevas performed.”
Mr Adikesavulu also said “ The Organisers have brought in Sri Guruvaayoorappan Temple, a new temple coming in Morganville, New Jersey and Sunnyvale Temple, a 20 years standing temple in San Francisco as Associates and both Temples are taking very active role . They have scheduled one event in New Jersey on Saturday, 1 May 2010 and one event in San Francisco on Sunday, 9 May 2010. While TTD is not spending any money other than providing the Idols, Puja material on cost, Organisers are bearing the entire costs of travel, hospitality etc of the visiting TTD team. The entire activity is declared as Non profit activity and complete transactions and accounting shall be transparent and any surplus money after meeting the expenses will be donated to those respective temples”
Mr Subba Row Chennuri, Editor & Managing Director, Telugu Times and also Convener for Srinivasa Kalyanam events in USA said “we have created an exclusive website www.srinivasakalyanam.org for these two events and entire NRI community is so excited to have TTD performing Srinivasa Kalyanam and other Sevas in New Jersey and San Francisco. Both the temples and several others are working for a grand success of this divine event. Registrations from couples are being taken for Kalyanam and other Sevas. In both cities, Sevas will start from morning 6am with Suprabhatam, Tomala Seva and Archana for 90mts and Kalyanam will be
performed from 10am to 12 noon. Only Registered participant couples will be seated for Sevas and Kalyanam. However, general Dasrhan is also arranged for public from after noon onwards in both the temples. Each Registered participant has to follow the dress code as being done in Srinivasa Kalyanam in Tirumala. Donations are being received in the name of both Temples respectively which have a Non profit status as per US Laws.”
Mr Subba Row also said “ Organisers are making arrangements to provide Puja material like Kumkum, Pasupu, Laddu prasadam, a Shawl and blouse piece etc to the Registered participants only. People who want to participate may register online at the earliest. “
